As Vice President and General Counsel, Adam provides legal counsel to the President, the Board of Directors, and senior academic and administrative leadership of the University. In this role, Adam advises on a wide variety of legal issues across all campuses of the University and oversees the team of lawyers and administrative professionals who work in the Office of General Counsel. Adam joined Georgetown University in 2011 and has been a frequent contributor to the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and speaker on legal issues relating to admissions, diversity and inclusion, mental health, and athletics. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Adam worked at the law firm of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP in New York where he represented corporations and individuals in a range of complex federal and state litigation and government investigations. Adam received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Elizabeth joined the University in 2011 from the Washington office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she counseled private investment firms with respect to private equity and hedge fund formation and operations and public companies with respect to federal securities laws. Before joining Gibson Dunn, she practiced in the corporate department at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York. Elizabeth received her undergraduate degree in English from Davidson College and her master of arts in English and law degree from Duke University.

Paul joined the University in early 2007. Before coming to Georgetown, Paul served for six years as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel of PBS, where he provided legal support and counsel on a wide range of legal and business issues including structuring and negotiating complex business transactions; trademark, copyright and intellectual property; media and entertainment; technology and Internet-related issues; and complex commercial litigation and risk management. Paul also previously served as Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of CAIS Internet, a Nasdaq Internet service and broadband solutions provider headquartered in Washington, DC. Paul began his in-house legal career after more than a decade of law firm practice, most recently with Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue. He earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1989 and his undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Phi Beta Kappa, from the George Washington University.

Casey joined the University in May 2020. Before coming to Georgetown, Casey served as Senior Associate General Counsel at the University of Idaho, advising on matters related to sponsored research, research compliance, intellectual property, and technology commercialization. Casey received his undergraduate degree in English from Yale University, his doctorate in English from the University of California, Irvine, and his law degree from Temple University.

Megan joined the University in 2014. Prior to coming to Georgetown, she served for seven years as an Associate General Counsel at the University of South Florida, specializing in employment matters. Megan also previously worked in private practice in the areas of labor and employment law. She received her undergraduate degree in English from Florida State University and her law degree from the University of Georgia. While in law school, Megan was an Articles Editor of the Georgia Law Review. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif.

Josh Dermott joined the University in March 2014. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Josh served as Associate Director of Legal Resources for the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), a professional association dedicated to advancing the effective practice of higher education attorneys. Before that, Josh practiced as an associate in the Washington, DC office of Crowell & Moring LLP. Josh earned his law degree from American University and his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, where he was captain of the swim team.

Stef joined the University in July 2017. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Stef was an associate in the Boston, and then Washington, DC, offices of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he worked on a variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture financings and other partnering and licensing transactions. Stef received his law degree from Boston University and his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Haverford College, where he was a member of the baseball team.

Elena Lobo joined the University in May 2019. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Elena was an associate in the New York office of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP where she counseled on international corporate and financial transactions. Elena earned her law degree from NYU School of Law, where she was an Institute for International Law and Justice Scholar and a Casebook Editor for the NYU Moot Court Board. She earned her undergraduate degree in International Relations, Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Brown University.

Sionne joined the University in April 2014 where she currently serves as University Counsel for Employment. Sionne previously worked in private practice, specializing in labor and employment law. She earned her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. In law school, Sionne was an editor on the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. Sionne received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland.

Cody joined the University in October 2022. Before coming to Georgetown, he served as Assistant General Counsel for The Pennsylvania State University, advising on a wide range of matters including student affairs, faculty & academic affairs, employment, and constitutional issues. Cody received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Montana, where he served as president of the Associated Students, and he received his master’s degree in public administration as well as his law degree from American University.

Erin joined the University in December 2023. She received a B.S. in Business from Wake Forest University and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and has a wealth of experience and expertise within higher education and the law. Erin most recently served as the General Counsel of Anne Arundel Community College. She also previously served as an attorney in a variety of roles, including as Deputy General Counsel and AVP at the University of Maryland Global Campus, as Assistant Attorney General in the Educational Affairs Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, and at a private law firm in Baltimore, Maryland.

Elizabeth joined the Office of University Counsel in June 2019. She drafts and reviews contracts, performs legal and policy research, works on international initiatives, and manages special projects. Elizabeth graduated with honors from Georgetown University where she received her undergraduate degree in Regional and Comparative Studies with a minor in Arabic.

John is a graduate of the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and did post-graduate work at National Taiwan Normal University.
